DX News Bits: 50 Cent, Scratch: The Ultimate DJ
A source tells the Daily Mirror, 50 prides himself on having a ripped bodyhes on a health kick and barely touches alcohol. So his range will be for the guy who likes to be pamperedbut the supplements will make it more butch.
In other news, this summer, Genius Products and Genco Interactive are planning to release Scratch: The Ultimate DJ. While popular games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero have made huge cultural impacts, spawning television shows and countless fan sites, Ultimate DJ will hopefully fulfill the desires of Hip Hop loving gamers. The gaming companies have enlisted producer Quincy Jones III to help develop the project.
Jones, who goes by the pseudonym QD3, said to the Rock Daily publication, Having been in music for 25 years and produced for like LL Cool J and Tupac and Ice Cube and all those guys, I thought there was a huge void in the gaming market place for something in the urban space.
The games soundtrack will include songs from Kanye West, Rakim, Beastie Boys, and more. The object of the game will be to get as many people on the dance floor as possible in order to secure more gigs and unlock new venues. The game will soon find competition in DJ Hero, which Activision reps have just recently confirmed will be released later on this year. Below is the tentative Ultimate DJ tracklist:
Flashing Lights - Kanye West
Intergalactic - Beastie Boys
Lets Get it Started - The Black Eyed Peas
Slacker - Tech N9ne
Dont Sweat the Technique - Eric B. and Rakim
Additional music from artists:
Run DMC
Gorillaz
Nelly
Deltron 3030
