Usher And Wife Demand Hospital Privacy

Rumors about Usher's wife have been swirling. While some have claimed she died after a cosmetic surgery over the weekend, others claimed there was a complication in the plastic surgery room leading to a severe medical emergency. Nevertheless, representatives for Usher have issued a statement on the matter.

The original statement was that she faced complications during a "routine surgery" in Brazil.

"The family has demanded total privacy," a spokesperson for So Paulo's Srio-Libans hospital told the Agence France-Presse. "The hospital is barred from giving any information," she added, noting that she would only say Tameka Raymond was in stable condition.

Now, Usher's reps have also spoken.

"Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital," the rep, Jeff O'Keefe, told the press. "No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time."

Usher had to cancel a few shows, including Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala.

"My thoughts are with them, whatever they're facing," Davis told People.

Usher and his wife have been married since August 2007. They have two children.
