Madlib And Cut Chemist Headline “Timeless” Concert Series
Timeless, which is presented by VTech, will provide music fans young and old with a handful of performances that bridge musical gaps. With artists like David Axelrod, Madlib, Mulatu Astatke and DJ Houseshoes set to take the stage alongside full scale orchestras, originality and creativity will surely be in the spotlight.
Tom Bacon, vice president of marketing for VTech, laid out the expectations for an event that juxtaposes highly influential artists with some of Hip Hops most distinguished deejays. Timeless is a one-of-a-kind concert series that celebrates diverse music influences and how they collaborate to create something truly unique. It's a unique product that will untether music lovers from their computers with high-quality sound and other features to fully enjoy music from around the globe.
Cut Chemist, who is tapped as one of the deejays to perform for Timeless, is no stranger to working on different types of projects with a variety of recording artists. Explaining his perception of Hip Hop as an art form, Chemist stated, I'll never lose sight of my roots as a Hip Hop deejay; it keeps me constantly inventing. I believe all music can be considered Hip Hop when it's presented in a way that's fresh to people's ears.
The four-part series, which began Saturday, will be performed at Harriet and Charles Luckman Fine Arts Complex in Los Angeles. Each performance after this initial debut will take place on the third Sunday proceeding the last, culminating in a final performance by David Axelrod and J. Rocc on April 5. General admission tickets begin at $22.50, and they can be purchased through ticketmaster.com or at the Luckman box office.
