In a recent interview with Coolehmag.com, Harlem rapper Max B expressed his belief that his lyrical prowess rivals that of some of Hip Hop’s greatest lyricists.

“I got that Tupac, Makaveli, ride, ride on my enemies to the death,” he explained. “I got this swag when it comes to talking about these hoes, droppin’ them big blows, that came from Biggie. Then I got the skills of an emcee, that’s natural. That comes in my Jigga form.” Putting them all together, Max B created the alias “Biggaveli,” an ode to the legacy of the three rappers.

The former Diplomat affiliate also had some things to say about ex-colleague Jim Jones, who claimed in a recent radio interview that Max B“sold his soul.”

“The only nigga that tried to stop my career is Jim [Jones],” said Max B. “He tried to do that because I’m wavy. And I’m the only nigga that can expose him for the true phony that he is. Jim tried to keep me out of the loop. He tried to keep me quiet, but that shit didn’t work out for him.”

After claiming that he was never paid for writing hooks for Jones, including the chorus for the 2006 single “We Fly High,” the two had a falling out, prompting Max B to leave Dipset. Despite being shot [click to read] and the drama that has surrounded his career, he assured that ’08 was a good year for him.

“I had a good year. I did about four shows a month. I got the Amalgam Digital album Vigilante Season done [click to read]. It’s been a real good year.”
