News Bits (Snoop Dogg, Queen Latifah, Mix Master Mike)

In preparation for the release of her new album entitled Persona, rapper/actress Queen Latifah is enlisting the help of her fans for one of the singles from her album.

Looking to find a "fresh new voice and a hot new song," Queen Latifah is letting fans write and choose the song which will be featured on Persona.

The contest is being held in conjunction with the People's Choice Awards which Queen Latifah will be hosting tonight (January 7) at 9 p.m.

Also in music news, rapper Snoop Dogg and Mix Master Mike of The Beastie Boys are both working with music accessories company Skullcandy to create their own individual line of headphones

Snoop Dogg's line will be geared towards consumers while Mix Master Mike's headphones will appeal to the deejay market.

Both set of headphones will become available later this year.
