Last summer, some may recall Akon [click to read] tossing a young fan offstage. The person who was thrown was a teenager and he landed on another concert goer who suffered a concussion.

At the time of the event, some claimed it was blown out of proportion, including the General Manager at WSPK Jason Finkelberg.

Given the information that we have reviewed to date, it does not appear to us that Akon was involved in any criminal conduct whatsoever,Finkelberg told The Poughkeepsie Journal at the time. “We are prepared to fully cooperate with any law enforcement agency that may be investigating this incident. We are confident that after a thorough investigation it will be apparent that no criminal prosecution of Akon is warranted.

Charges were pressed against the singer and Akon had to go to court. Recently, Akon gave his guilty plea to the harassment charge.

According to TMZ, Akon apologized to the family of the teenager, while the mother teased him.

I could have killed you for throwing my son like that,” she said “jokingly” according to their reports.

The incident will not land Akon behind bars. Still, the singer, who recently released his latest album Freedom [click to read], must do 65 hours of community service and pay a $250 fine.
