West coast Hip Hop fans this morning may have noticed “Def Wish V” [click to listen] in HipHopDX‘s audio section. The MC Eiht track comes from Nik Bean‘s new mixtape with the Compton legend entitled All Starz & Strapz (Streetz of L.A.)

The latest entry in the “Def Wish” series may have come as a surprise to some. Whereas the series began over 15 years ago in Eiht battling DJ Quik in the highly publicized Compton feud between rival gang members and emcees, the latest edition was turned on longtime collaborator and Comptons Most Wanted member Tha Chill.

Credited as a CMW co-founder formerly known as MC Chill, the producer and emcee has also worked with acts like 213 and RBX [click to read].

“Def Wish V” uses the rhyme scheme from Dr. Dre‘s “Fuck Wit Dre Day,” claiming, “You’re sort of like a sidekick in the first place,” and accusing the partner of lying, ingratitude and having trouble with women.

With the mixtape coming shortly, MC Eiht told HipHopDX in a statement today that the two are actually working towards settling differences, despite the untimely weekend release of the track. According to Eiht, the two had already started to settle differences. “Chit, he realized it was all B.S. and has reached out to squash the beef,” said the rapper and actor, who also admitted the feud had been going on for over a year.

Eiht also added that he’s hard at work with his recent role in Snoop Dogg-created group Warzone. “I’m preparin’ the next mixtape which is tittled Last Lines of Defense and also workin’ on [a new] solo [release] and droppin’ a Warzone album in March.
