UK Radio Deejay Suspended After Playing "Arab Money"

Hip Hop music has continually taken heat for various reasons; malicious content, obscene portrayal of life, or the exploitation of sex and drugs. With that said, it has seldom been the case for religion to become the hot bed of discussion, at least on American soil. The same cant be said for music overseas, where the radio play of Busta Rhymes new single Arab Money [click to listen] has gotten one UK deejay in a bit of trouble.

Galaxy FMs Steve Sutherland, winner of the 2002 and 2006 MOBO Award for "Best UK DJ," has been suspended after playing Arab Money this past weekend. Global Radio, a private company that owns Galaxy FM, received several complaints concerning the content of Arab Money, which subsequently led to the suspension of Sutherland. The producer for Sutherlands show, which airs in Birmingham, Manchester, Yorkshire, and also Scotland, has been suspended as well.

Galaxy FM has since apologized to their listeners through a statement on their website. Galaxy would like to apologize to all our listeners for the airing of this song.
