T-Pain Gets Auto-tune Props From
Lil Wayne, Kanye West
In an interview with Rhapsody.com, singer T-Pain speaks on bringing
back auto-tune and receiving credit for it from artists such as Lil
Wayne and Kanye West.
"I brought it back. I didn't start it," T-Pain explained to Rhapsody. "I didn't invent the damn thing. People think that I feel that way when I say that I should get respect or recognition for bringing it back."
Since T-Pain's resurrection of auto-tune, a plethora of Hip Hop artists have given into music's latest fad.
"Lil Wayne will tell you right now that the only reason he is doing it is because of me," T-Pain told Rhapsody.com. "He saw that people accepted it."
Kanye West, another Hip Hop artist jumping on the auto-tune bandwagon, even recruited T-Pain's help for a few tracks on 808's And Heartbreak.
"Kanye called and said, 'I got to borrow your style for a second.'," T-Pain explained. "He's kept it a little longer than he said he would he was going to, but at least he gives me the props."
Aside from working with other artists, T-Pain recently released his latest album Thr33 Ringz earlier this month.
