Bump J Arrested For Possible 2007 Robbery
Chicago-native Bump J [click to read] was recently arrested in Carbondale, Illinois and is currently being held without bail following the connection to a bank robbery that happened over a year ago.
The robbery in question, which occurred January 4th, 2007, was done by two men (one believed to be Bump J) at a Chase Bank branch in Oakpark. Surveillance cameras show both men wielding handguns while announcing a bank robbery was in place. The two men then made off with over $100,000 in cash; no one was injured during the robbery.
According to CBS in Chicago, Bump J (real name Terrance Boykin) was stopped for a routine traffic violation in Carbondale, where his profile matched the description and police report of the stated robbery.
Bump J is being charged with one count of bank robbery and one count of violating federal firearm statutes. If convicted, the Chicago rapper could face up to 20 years in prison, while his assailant remains at large.
