Boston radio station JAM'N 94.5 scheduled a Monster Jam lineup that included the two Carters, Jay-Z and Lil Wayne. However, Lil Wayne did not perform, despite showing up to the venue. According to reports, Wayne showed up to the TD Banknorth Garden and was asked to be frisked by security. He rejected this and declined to cooperate with security.
Another Carter, writer Lauren Carter from the Boston Herald, wrote about the event for the newspaper.
Carter states, "[Wayne] was apparently unable or unwilling to get through TD Banknorth Garden security. So instead of performing his set as scheduled, he left."
Brandy and Yung Berg gave short performances and Ne-Yo also performed, while Jay-Z extended his set to make up for the loss of Weezy.
The Boston Globe also reported on the event, calling Jay's 90 minute set explosive. The performance included his speech about Sen. Obama and change, as he continued his quest to speak about the election.
