Family Member Held in Hudson Murders
A suspect is in police custody following the Friday murders of singer Jennifer Hudsons mother and bother according to the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Tribune.
Police took Hudsons brother-in-law, William Balfour into custody in connection with the shooting. The 27-year-old was out on parole after serving time for several violent crimes, including attempted murder and carjacking, according to an MTV report.
Balfour had been on parole in 2006 and would have completed parole next year.
Chicago authorities consider the double homicide a case of domestic violence. Balfour was involved with Hudsons sister Julia, who identified Balfour as her husband on a MySpace page. Balfour also lived at the residence where the shooting took place.
Hudsons nephew, Julian King, 7, was declared missing after police investigated the scene. An Amber Alert has been issued. King is 4 feet 11 inches tall, is 130 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair.
Despite Balfours apprehension, King is still considered missing.
Hudson, who flew to Chicago from Tampa, Florida after receiving the news, has not commented on the murders as of press time.
