In addition to the "ELEC" mixtape he recently released in conjunction with HipHopDX [click for free download], Black Milk is currently touring Europe with Bishop Lamont in support of Caltroit [click to listen]. Detroit's producer/emcee extraordinaire provided an update about his new mixtape, upcoming album and more while in between dates in Holland.

"'ELEC' is a 25-track mixtape of songs that I have done since my last solo album Popular Demand," Black tells HipHopDX. "The mixtape is getting people ready for my upcoming release Tronic. 'ELEC' features tracks from Fat Ray's The Set Up, Caltroit, Elzhi's The Preface and features Busta Rhymes, Jake One, Pharoahe Monch, Kardinal Offishall, DJ Khalil, Royce Da 5'9" [click to download], Guilty Simpson, and more."

Black Milk also gave a rundown of Tronic, his upcoming solo album, and future projects from Random Axe and other collaborators.

"My solo album, Tronic drops October 28th," he noted before speaking on other upcoming projects. "First quarter of next year, I will be putting out the project Random Axe with Guilty Simpson and Sean Price. I have a few other projects and ideas in mind that I want to work on but they are not official yet."

With artists like Elzhi and Royce Da 5' 9" coming together, Detroit is more unified than ever. Black Milk also spoke to us about the current scene in Detroit and how it's all working out:

"People can expect more collaborations from certain Detroit artists that usually wouldn't work together. Detroit artists are coming together. Also, there are couple upcoming artists that I hopefully can work with. Definitely Danny Brown has a nice delivery. I have been working with some artists on a couple projects, including Nametag, new material with Fat Ray and a project with Royce da 5'9" and Elzhi."

As mentioned, Black is currently in Europe, where he's seen fans in other countries react to his music.

"The shows I do in the States always have a pretty good turnout, and the audience is live," says Black. "But when I come overseas, it is the States' energy times 10. They appreciate hip-hop way more than people in the States, because they aren't used to seeing hip-hop shows." For tour dates, check below.
