After rallying fans with two announced two free concert dates last week [click to read], Jay-Z left thousands disappointed last night, when he was unable to perform due to reported throat conditions. Fans at Bayfront Park Amphitheater were notified last minute of the musician and mogul’s change of plans.
Despite reports that both Wyclef Jean and Rick Ross were slated to open for Jay-Z, the event was canceled in its entirety.
Neither Jay-Z‘s camp nor organizers have yet to release a statement. Similar free concerts intended to garner voter registration, including Bruce Springsteen.
