With a career that spans close to two decades, its understandable that Scarface [click to read] has been pondering retirement for some time now. He flirted with the decision back in 2002 after The Fix [click to read] was released to high acclaim. Then, earlier this year he told XXL that his ninth studio album, Emeritus, would all but be his last.

However, he kept the r-word out of the discussion. Im not gonna say that. Im gonna say Scarface, Emeritus. As time goes on, you will understand it, he said.

Reiterating this same gesture just yesterday to MTV, Scarface graciously clarified that Emeritus would in fact be his last solo effort. It feels real good. The Emeritus record, the reason I'm so proud of it is because it's my last. I'm done, man. If you leave it up to me, I quit."

With that said, Scarface made it clear that this doesnt mean retirement for one of the souths most honored emcees as he relayed a list of collaborations that would keep him interested in tearing up the mic. Only thing that's gonna bring me back [is] if I do an album with somebody. Me, [Ice] Cube and Nas do something, or me and Jigga and Beans do something. Or me and Bun B do a duo. It's gotta be a trio or duo.

Emeritus is tentatively scheduled for release on December 2nd. In the meantime, be sure to check out High Powered [click to listen] and Forget About Me [click to listen] off of the album in our audio section.
