Wu Music Group Unleashes Old Catalogue With The Orchard

Announced today, RZA and Wu Music Group have teamed with The Orchard to digitally re-release over 10 classic albums from the imprint's historic catalogue. Thirteen releases will be made available digitally through The Orchard, including U-God's Golden Arms Redemption, Killarmy's first two albums and compilation and soundtrack releases ranging from Ghost Dog and Derailed to Wu-Syndicate and Wu-Tang Killa Bees [click to read].

"The time is right to bring some older Wu material to the masses digitally," said RZA [click to read]. "Our fans have been dedicated and patient, and they're hungry to hear the music that has set us apart from so many others. Hip-Hop is alive in Wu Music, and with The Orchard, we've got a solid partner that understands our audience and is committed to doing all they can to help us reach the fans. I'm definitely looking forward to working with them to see what else we all come up with. There's much more to come."

This new deal also features multiple other components. Beginning today, fans can text "WuMusic" to "66937" to receive various news updates, contest entries and special information and content. In conjunction with Kyte, The Wu Music Tube [click to view] will also launch today, unveiling video content digitally of old and new alike. Lastly, the deal makes ringtones, videos and other digital music content available from the catalogue, as well as a relaunch to website WuMusicGroup.com.

The downloadable content will be available, beginning September 23.



According to The Orchard, this relationship marks the beginning, with various new content potentially coming in the near future.
