Philadelphia rap star Beanie Sigel will be joining forces with NASCAR racing league, boxer Winky Wright, Young Chris [click to read] and members of The Roots [click to read] on September 6 at Philadelphia's Sports Complex.
There, at 11:00 am, the group will orchestrate Urban Youth Racing School's third annual Celebrity Grand Prix of Philadelphia race. Over 5,000 are expected to attend the event. Beyond that, UYRS founder Anthony Martin asserts, "There are a lot of African- American kids interested in Nascar and the racing industry, but don't know how to go about getting involved. The UYRS was founded in 1998 to fill that gap. Over 2,000 students have graduated from our program with the knowledge of racing, marketing, and sponsorship within the racing industry."
Prizes include gifts from Sprint and XBox.
