Super Cr3w Talks Americas Best Dance Crew Victory
Super Cr3w beat out the runner-up, Houstons SoReal Cru and by doing so joined the likes of former Americas Best Dance Crew winners Jabbawockeez.
Our initial reaction was utter and total excitement, Mike of Super Cr3w told HipHopDX. Almost like tears of joys. Words cant even explain what if felt like because weve been working so hard and we felt like we just deserved it.
Super Cr3ws hard work didnt always pay off as the six-man crew faced possible elimination mid-way through the show.
There was a couple of times that we really doubted that we were gonna move on, like when we were against Fanny Pak and Supreme Soul in the bottom two, Ben of Super Cr3w explained to HipHopDX. It was really up in the air and we didnt go to that bottom two expecting to come out winning. Were just grateful that we actually made it through and here we are now.
Ironically, Super Cr3w actually consists of members from three different crews (Full Force, Battle Monkeys, and Knucklehead Zoo) who met at B-Boy Summit in California after battling each other and went on to form Super Cr3w.
And with their win on Americas Best Dance Crew, Super Cr3w is quite optimistic about the future of break-dancing.
I think that now its gonna be taken a bit more seriouslyinstead of being pushed to the background itll be propelled to the forefront, Mike explained. I feel like (winning) was a major stepping stone for b-boys and even just dancers in general, all over the world. Were not just the backgrounds anymore, were in the front. We have a name and we have an identity and were respected for our craft. Which is the way it should be.
As far as the $100,000 prize money goes, Super Cr3w plans on investing, paying off bills, and helping out family.
