This past week, Cornell University was given a collection of vintage Hip Hop artifacts from music historian and collector Johan Kugelberg.

The collection includes over 500 original flyers, many designed by famed street artist Buddy Esquire. A collection of Joe Conzo Bronx photographs, and nearly 1,000 records are included in this vast collection of late ’70s and early ’80s Hip Hop. Reportedly, the collection is open to the public soon.

To commemorate the gift, Hip Hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa, author Jeff Chang and Conzo will host a roundtable at Cornell on October 31 and November 1 of this year. The collection joins the acclaimed Cornell Division of Rare And Manuscript Collections.
