End Of The Weak (EOW), New York City’s longest running open mic, will celebrate their eight year anniversary this weekend with a concert, after party, and the first ever EOWAwards.

Started in 2000, EOW had steadily become New York City’s premiere location for a great Hip Hop show, enticing MC’s from all over the world to grace it’s stage.

Over the years the coveted EOW stage has hosted talent from all over the world including Immortal Technique, Poison Pen, Scram Jones, and DMC of Run DMC. EOW has also had the opportunity to expand to other countries including France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Spain and the UK. Quite impressive for an organization that started their open mic in the back of a restaurant.

“When we started the movement, it was a small open mic in the back of a restaurant,”ProPayne one of EOW‘s founders told HipHopDX. “Now we’re an internationally recognized brand with franchises in three continents. We’ve been forced to adapt and change with the times. We went from a crew of friends making music to business men with marketing plans and proposals. We’ve grown and had to adopt a more ‘professional’ approach to what we do.”

Eight years of success doesn’t come easy, especially eight years in Hip Hop, but somehow EOW has learned what it takes to attain Hip Hop longevity.

“I feel that EOW is successful and able to do a weekly show that never gets dry or old because we love the music and the culture and have a great respect for where it’s rooted,”ProPayne explained. “We consider ourselves grown men in the Hip Hop game, so we have a seasoned outlook on things. One of our matra’s is maintaining the integrity of the culture. That in itself shines through and draws people to The Dub.”
