Lil Wayne Issues Statement On Daughter Death Rumors
Over
the weekend, several media outlets, including MTV, were reporting that
the eight-year-old daughter of rapper Lil Wayne was killed in a traffic
accident.
Earlier today statements were issued by both Lil Wayne and his label Universal Motown dispelling the rumor.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who are genuinely concerned about Reginae and her safety. Please allow me to dispel any rumors or speculations and report that my daughter is alive, healthy and surrounded by family who care and love her dearly," Lil Wayne said in a statement.
Eight year-old Reginae Carter is the daughter of Lil Wayne and his former high school sweetheart Antonia Johnson.
According to various sources, the rumor was spread via text message.
