It appears that celebrities do have a certain affinity for politics. This week, three celebrities have added their own pieces to the nation’s political puzzle. Adding to the mix, Paris Hilton, George Lopez and Tyra Banks gave their insight on the election.
After John McCain‘s campaign released an ad comparing Barack Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, Hilton decided to throw her own shots. She recently released a video in response to McCain’s.

“I don’t like the fact that people think Latinos won’t vote for an African-American. It’s bullshit,” he recently told the New York Daily News.
“We’re going to vote for the right person who can restore faith and hope in this country. Latinos feel disenfranchised. [Obama‘s] dream is our dream,” he said.
The Daily News also reported that Barack Obama is up by a large margin in terms of approval from Latino voters.

Tyra Banks has endorsed Barack Obama publicly and now she’s doing her best to play potential First Lady Michelle Obama in a magazine spread. According to reports, Banks will be featured in Harper’s Bazaar dressed and made to look like Mrs Obama. The issue, which will be out in late August, also allows Banks to express why she is thrilled about Obama‘s success.
“When Barack won the nomination, I just started bawling. I started calling all these people, and everybody was talking to me like I was crazy. They’re like, ‘Well, he hasn’t won yet,’ but I’m like, ‘Yes, he has, because he’s gotten this far,” she says.

“So what gives me tears is if Barack Obama wins, kids are going to say that a black man can be president, too. I think it will give so many people – black, Latin, Asian, even white people that feel forgotten – hope. I did not think I would see it in my lifetime, and I’m only 34.”
Since she is honoring the senator’s wife, she explained why she feels the couple is powerful.

Later in the article, Banks speaks on Michelle Obama and how she thinks the First Lady should act if she gets the chance to take that role.

“Oh, I want her to not take herself too seriously. She’d need to know how to take a fierce picture, but at the same time be able to eat fried chicken, have grease on her fingers, and be okay with getting photographed like that, too. I’d want her to feel like every child in America is hers – to have a true connection.”
