The Wire Gets No Love From the

Emmys

The Wire—a show many critics regarded as the best television show ever—was snubbed by this year’s nominating committee for the Emmy Awards.

HBO’s critically acclaimed show, which concluded this year, missed out on its final opportunity to be nominated in the drama category.

The show received just one nomination for writing.

On the flip side, HBO’s John Adams miniseries received 23 nominations.

In other nomination news, A Raisin in the Sun—which featured Diddy—picked up two nominations. Phylicia Rashad is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie and Audra McDonald received a nod for Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie.

The fifth and final season of The Wire hits store shelves in August.
