Jesse Jackson Wants To "Cut Obama's Nuts Off?"
Jackson was caught on tape during a Fox News interview saying that he believed Obama was talking down to black people, remarking on recent speeches the Illinois senator made about fathers taking care of their children.
I want to cut his nuts off, Jackson later remarked.
The comment was delivered when Jackson believed his microphone was turned off.
After news of the remarks surfaced, Jackson immediately apologized, calling his comments crude and hurtful.
"I want to be clear," Jackson said in a statement. "My support for Barack Obama is unequivocal. I apologize to Barack and the Obama campaign for my crude and hurtful comments."
The Obama campaign took the high road, accepting Jacksons apology, but not all of Obamas supporters held their tongues.
Jessie Jackson Jr. released a scathing rebuke of his fathers remarks, saying: I'm deeply outraged and disappointed in Reverend Jackson's reckless statements about Senator Barack Obama. His divisive and demeaning comments about the presumptive Democratic nominee -- and I believe the next president of the United States -- contradict his inspiring and courageous career.
