50 Cent is headed back to court.

After a fire burned down 50 Cent’s Long Island home [click to read] where the rapper’s ex, Shaniqua Tompkins, and her 11-year-old son Marquise lived, Tompkins made claims that 50 was responsible for the blaze.

Officials, while stating that the fire was “suspicious,” did not make any similar claims, nor did they imply that 50 (real name, Curtis Jackson), was in any way involved. As a result of the claims, 50’s legal team is drafting a defamation complaint against Tompkins, according to the NY Daily News.

There comes a point where you can no longer sit on your hands and listen to her spread these falsehoods,” said Brett Kimmel, 50’s lawyer. “Besides hurting his reputation, they have a damaging impact on their son.”

According to a petition that was filed, Tompkins has “made it practically impossible” for 50 to speak with or see his son. The rapper even says he sent his son a new cell phone, and a duffle bag full of new clothes. The petitionalleges that his ex has “failed and refused to give the cell phone to Marquise. The only way [50] can communicate with his son is to call [Tompkins‘]
cell phone. On June 11 … [she] did permit [50] to speak with his son.
However … she was hovering over Marquise, monitoring the conversation
and, after a short while, she interrupted the conversation by taking
the phone from Marquise and began yelling at [50],
” who proceeded to hang up on her.

50 also claims that this is a “willful violation” of their custody agreement, and requests that the courts address the situation.
