This isn’t the first time that AMW has told you about the Dipset Crew,” begins the America’s Most Wanted website. After previously highlighting the “Stop Snitchin'” movement over a year ago, the Harlem rap clique has made the top of the list on behalf Carlos “Zoo” Thompson, who AMW is billing as The Diplomats‘ “enforcer.”

Thompson is wanted in connection with the June 16, 2005 murder of 15 year-old Phoenix Garrett. Nearly three years later, the murder remains unsolved, and according the boy’s parents, “Zoo,” through the “stop snitchin'” code, has never been found or questioned. The murder allegedly took place over CD bootlegging.

He liked rap music. We used to have a lot of discussions about rap
music, because I thought some of it was inappropriate. I thought it
was taking us backwards, as opposed to forward, with some of the
lyrics. But these were the CDs he was selling. It wasn’t as if he was
some conglomerate. He was a little kid selling CDs to make some pocket
change,
” said the boy’s father, a housing corrections officer.

Nearly three years ago, on 144th Street, Garrett was selling CDs, when he was approached by a group of men, reportedly including Thompson. Upon seeing that the teen was selling Diplomats product, Thompson attacked him. Garrett defended himself by cutting the then-30-year-old with a box-cutter. Subsequently, a .38 caliber pistol was retrieved from a nearby car, and according to reports, handed by Thompson to a 13-year-old named L’mani Delima.

Followed by a beating from the other members of the entourage, the police report says Delima shot Garrett five times, killing the teen. The shooter was arrested at the scene, and sentenced to eight years. Garrett’s parents say that the real killer is Thompson, who remains at large.
