Remy Ma Sentenced To Eight Years In Prison
It couldn’t get any worse for Remy Ma and Papoose. DX recently reported how the marriage between the two was called off due to Papoose bringing to prison what seemed to be keys that could have opened Remy’s handcuffs [click to read]. Today, an NYC judge let the other foot drop as Remy was sentenced to eight years in prison for assault, weapon possession and attempted coercion.
The Grammy nominated rapper was facing up to 25 years in prison and was reportedly teary eyed when the sentence was handed down. Newsday reports that the Remy Ma team plans to appeal the sentence.
Remy's fiance, Papoose, was also in attendance when the sentencing was given. After he heard his bride to be would be locked up for eight years, Papoose was reportedly heard shouting “All you want is money!” as he referred to the victim in this case, Makeda Barnes Joseph.
Pap continued his tirade and even barked to court officers to be jailed himself. Word is that Papoose and Remy still plan to marry after Remy’s transfer to an upstate prison.
