Restricted four years ago from visiting his high school, Ludacris made his first visit since the banishment to speak against violence, according to Fort Mill Times.

Returning to Banneker High School in South Atlanta yesterday, the Grammy Award-winners presence was highly important in the stance against violence as the school reportedly buried a box of weapons, drugs, and more than 1,000 anonymous letters from students in regards to the effect of violence. In addition to the speech, Ludacris was honored with a mural painting.

According to the schools principal, Robert Williams, the previous official restricted the rapper from the schools grounds due to the amount of attention he was capable of attracting. However, Williams decided to invite Ludacris to return as a spokesman against the violence, Fort Mill Times reported.

In addition to Ludacris, Banneker High School is also where Atlanta-based rapper Yung Joc attended.
