Cee-Lo Teams Up With Jack Black For A Disco Cover

Cee-Lo links with Tenacious D front-man and Hollywood star actor to redo "Kung Fu Fighting" for soundtrack.

Since re-establishing himself through Gnarls Barkley [click to read], Cee-Lo Green has been privy to many new opportunities in the mainstream. The latest such opportunity is a remake of the 1974 Carl Douglas Disco hit "Kung Fu Fighting." The song is joined by Jack Black, whose acting credits include School of Rock, Orange County and High Fidelity, in addition to his comedic band Tenacious D.

The song appears on the Interscope Records soundtrack to Kung Fu Panda, an animated new comedy. The song is produced by The Underdogs, responsible for work for Chris Brown and Beyonce. The film, which features voices of Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman and Angelina Jolie, releases June 6 on Dreamworks. The soundtrack releases June 3. Acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer scored the film.

" said Cee-Lo. Previously, the Georgia native did "Ophidiophobia," from the Snakes On A Plane Soundtrack, released in 2006.

Presently, Gnarls Barkley just released their "Going On" video [click here to view] from The Odd Couple. As a solo artist, the one-time Goodie Mob member has been reportedly working on his Atlantic Records debut, the first body of new material since 2004's Cee-Lo Green... Is the Soul Machine, released on Arista.
