Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin
Defend Jay-Z
After drawing the ire of some individuals, including Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher [click here to read] over participation in the upcoming Glatonbury Festival, Jay-Z is getting support from some famous friends.
Collaborator and Coldplay front-man Chris Martin defended Jay’s involvement, telling BBC Radio1 that his band didn’t need to play the event because Jay-Z was “the best musician on the planet.”
He also called the dustup over a rapper being added to the lineup “embarrassing.”
"We recently came back to England to find all this hoo-hah, grandpas complaining about things they don't know about. Coldplay not playing and Jay-Z playing is exactly what needs to happen for the world. He's the best rapper in the world."
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow—who is married to Martin—also stepped up to the plate for Hov, saying, "He's the best rapper of all-time and I think he'll knock it out of the park."
Jay-Z was previously blamed for slowing ticket sale for the show with some claiming that concert attendees wanted to see rock acts instead of Hip Hop, a claim the show organizers vehemently denied.
The Glastonbury Festival begins June 27 and will conclude June 29 at Worthy Farm, Somerset.
