Pete Rock To Release Instrumental Version Of Album

As producers like RJD2 and DJ Premier have officially released instrumental projects in the last five years, iconic New York-based track-master Pete Rock will be releasing an instrumental companion to NY's Finest [click to read] on May 13. The initial release in the last week of February debuted on the Billboard Top 200, scanning 3,806 units in its first week.

Just as the original, the instrumentals will be released on Brooklyn's Nature Sounds label. Last year, the label released an instrumental companion to Havoc's Kush album. Both artists' work will be made available on vinyl.

Pete Rock
has recently produced tracks for Jim Jones, Redman and Ghostface. There has been rumors that he may be soon collaborating with Tha Dogg Pound. Of the producer, Kanye West recently said, "Pete Rock is among the most legendary producers of all-time."
