Jay-Z Performing At UK Music Festival Called "Wrong"

Noel Gallagher, guitarist for Oasis [most well known for their 1990's hit "Wonderwall"] has spoken out against the decision to recruit Jay-Z to headline Glastonbury, a popular UK music festival. He even went as far to call the idea of his participation in the event "wrong".

"If you start to break [tradition] then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance." He told the BBC, "Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?'

"I don't know about it. But I'm not having Hip Hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."

Gallagher also eluded to the idea that Jay-Z is to blame for the festival's mediocre ticket sales this year. There were 100,000 tickets sold for Glastonbury on the first day, but in past years all tickets had sold out in a matter of hours. Oasis headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 1995 and 2004, with the event selling out on both occasions.

Opposing theories to Gallagher's claims of why the festival has yet to sell out include a less than stellar line-up with or without Jay-Z, over-saturation of the festival market with too many events at this time, and concern for poor weather for the outdoor event.

Jay-Z has yet to comment on Gallagher's opinion.
