Despite legendary signings and working with artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mase and Mary J. Blige, Diddy claims his newest Bad Boy artist, Janelle Monae, is his most important signing of his career.

Introducing the artist last night at Manhattans Blender Theater, Diddy shared a few words with attendees including Vibe Magazine editor-in-chief Danyel Smith, comedian Anthony Anderson, and BETs Terrence J.

Ive been blessed with artists like Jodeci, Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige in the past, but this artist right hereyouve just got to see it to believe it. I dont know if you ever felt the Holy Ghost, but thats the only feeling youre to feel tonight, Diddy said to a capacity crowd.

Placing even more excitement and expectations to on-lookers, the hip-hop mogul compared the artist to a blessing and as one of his most valuable signings, ever.

This is possibly the most important signing of my career. I thank God for blessing me with an artist like Janelle Monae. Now, are yall ready to go to church, Diddy asked the audience.

After performing a five-song set including Smile and Letting Go, Monae thanked her audience with sincere words before exiting the stage.

I love you. Follow us in this journey. Hopefully we can alter history together, she said.

The singer/songwriter/producer is currently signed to Bad Boy via her own Wondaland Arts Society imprint. Her EP, Metropolis Suite, is set for a June release while her solo debut, Metropolis, will follow in early fall.
