U.S. Death Toll In Iraq Rises To 4,000

As the war in Iraq enters its sixth year, the United States soldier death toll rose to 4,000 yesterday, after four soldiers were killed during a road side bombing in Baghdad. The day also saw an onslaught of attacks near a US Green Zone that left 61 Iraqis dead.

The Bush Administrationdespite some of the lowest approval ratings over the last 8 years and a growing anti-war sentiment in the country is committed to successfully completing the mission, which is one of the main requests he hears from families of the fallen," White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said earlier today.

When confronted with the fact that the majority of American people disapprove of the war, current Vice-President Dick Cheney merely replied with, So? With the economy slumping, many point to the warwhich has cost an estimated $400 billionas one thing hurting the countrys financial situation.
