Makeda Barnes-Joseph withdrew her $20 million lawsuit against Remy Ma, according to reports.
Joseph filed the civil suit in December 2007, claiming that the rapper shot her twice in the abdomen, due to a dispute over $3000. The rapper was subsequently charged with assault and witness tampering.
Barnes-Joseph was hospitalized for three weeks after the shooting, and claims that Remy Ma shot her in Barnes-Joseph's car.
Recent testimony by friend Krystal Bolton supported Barnes-Joseph's claims; however, Remy's defense attorney Ivan Fletcher says that the shooting was accidental. If convicted, Remy faces up to 25 years in prison.
Barnes-Joseph may refile the lawsuit at a later date, and may be waiting for the outcome of the trial before continuing the civil case.
