Since the days of N.W.A., Ice Cube has always been looked upon as a pioneer and an innovator. This March 15th will be no different, as Ice Cube will be doing a live televised concert on the internet; the first of its kind.

This concert will be streamed live on UVNTV.com, a website that was created by Ice Cube and DJ Pooh as a place for TV-related content along with a social network system. The actual performance will be taking place at Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest Festival. The show begins at 9 pm eastern (if you are in the Austin area, go to http://www.sxsw.com/ for event info).

In addition to this, Microsoft has lent a hand in the production of the live feed as their new Silverlight technology will be used to enhance the experience of the free show from the comfort of your own home.

This show is in preparation for Ice Cube’s latest installment of work set to come out in June. His eighth studio solo album, Raw Footage, is described as a more political album, which would bring him full-circle to his AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted days. His first single, “Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It,” signifies this perfectly through his lyrics and the accompanying music video that embellishes the hypocrisies of the world today.
