Fans of Rakim have waited, and waited...and waited. While his Aftermath album Oh My God was notoriously shelved, and his next new project remains in production, the veteran iconic emcee has joined forces with Koch Records for an update to some.
Lost & Found, to be released March 4th, will feature four unreleased tracks in addition to 17 live recordings from Rakim's extensive recording catalogue. Among the new recordings is "Hip Hop" [click here to listen].
The live recording trend follows recent similar efforts from 2Pac, Lyrics Born and KRS-One.
No additional details have been given concerning Rakim's upcoming studio album The 7th Seal. The effort, released on the Long Island emcee's G&E Trust label, was slated for a summer 2007 release, before being bumped to a later date.
