11th Annual Mixtape Awards Honor Artists

The 2008 11th Annual Mixtape awards will be featuring some of the biggest names in the hip hop game, with some of the genre's most popular artists vying for the top spot.

The event will feature guest performances by hip hop legends Afrikka Bambatta, Melly Mel and Soul Sonic Force, making this one of the biggest years in the awards' 11-year history.

The nominees for "Best Dirty South Mixtape Artist" are: Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, TI, and Pimp C. DJ Khaled, DJ Drama, Chuck T, DJ Smallz, and DJ Jelly round out the nominations for "Best Dirty South Mixtape DJ."

Joe Budden, Saigon , Styles P, Papoose, and Uncle Murder are nominated for "The Best East Coast Mixtape Artist," while Mick Boogie, G Spot, EV, Panic, and Nonstop (HH) fill the nominations in the "Best Midwest DJ" category.

The "Best Mixtape of the Year" nominees are Mood Muzik 3- DJ On Point & Joe Budden, Da Drought 3- DJ Khaled & Lil' Wayne, The Phantom- DJ Big Mike, Poobs & Styles P, Shesus Khryst- Superstar Jay & Remy Martin, Gangsta Grillz- DJ Drama & Various Artists, Death Certificate- DJ Skee, DJ Haze, Sept 7th & Juice.

Finally, the nominees for "Best Mixtape DJ: The Kay Slay Award" include Big Mike, DJ Drama, DJ Skee, Superstar Jay, and Mick Boogie.

The winners will be announced at the award ceremony at the award show, on February 21, 2008.
