The family of the late Hip Hop and R&B star, Lisa Left Eye Lopes has threatened a chic Los Angeles based clothing company with legal action. This come after learning that bosses have used Lopes image as inspiration for new designs without permission.

Dragonfly designers staged a photo shoot with models posing as deceased stars as part of Janice Dickinsons modeling agency reality show. The episode, which aired on Tuesday night, showcased Lopes to the dismay of loved ones and fans everywhere.

Jay Morose, former best friend and publicist of Left Eye, says, They explicitly said they are portraying Elvis, Kurt Cobain and my friend, Lisa Lopes. The photos are now online as a catalog for this company. They even identify the models by their rock star names.

After approaching Lopes family, Morose spoke with Dragonfly bosses about taking the upsetting images down.

Jay Morose
adds, An assistant told me they can do whatever they want with the images. But its tasteless and also highly illegal. In California, tort law generally prohibits commercial use of a celebritys likeness without consent. This matter has been passed on to [the Lopes] familys attorneys.

In 2002, Lisa Left Eye Lopes was killed in a car accident in Honduras. HipHopDX will keep you informed as more develops.
