Tonedeff is insanely busy. He’s writing his own material, working on
other artist’s albums, executive producing, running a label and
promoting his acts. But, he found some time to sit down and speak with
HipHopDX about a variety of new projects coming out. He even shared
some information on top secret projects that are lined up for 2008.

Above
all, most QN5 fans have been waiting for Chico and the Man, an album by
Tonedeff and The Cunninlynguist‘s Kno. That album is still being worked on, but Tone did
tell us that it will be released this year.

“[Chico and the Man]
is still in the works. I’m hoping to get it out soon, but we have no
official date for it. Kno and I have taken a vow of silence on it
till it’s 100% done.

So, why the secrecy?

You’ll see when it’s done,” he told us in a sly manner.

Substantial‘s
Sacrifice LP has just been released. It comes right behind
CunninlynguistsDirty Acres. While those are in stores, there are more
albums on the way, which has kept the QN5 family quite busy.

I’m
executive producing Session‘s debut album,
Spicasso. Thats’ due out this
summer. Pack [FM]’s finishing up his album,
I Fucking Hate Rappers. Mr. SOS drops a new album in the fall and we just started writing new
Extended Famm songs,
” he told us.

Session‘s debut is being released first out of the bunch and Tone explained just what folks can expect from the LP.

Next
up is Session‘s album. It’s the black sheep project for QN5. It’s mad
street bangers, hella hood. Session‘s a knucklehead. He’s QN5‘s O.D.B. I
mean, come on…its the same dude who did a song with a Chia Pet
sample.

Aside from all of this, they have even managed to cook up secret projects. Expect those two to drop this year as well.

We
have two secret projects dropping this year too. One in the next couple
months and the other in the fall. One’s an LP [and] the other is an EP.
