DX News Bits (Dipset Gets Disney, Nu Jerzey Devil Gets Heaven)

Cam'ron's crew, The Diplomats recently popped up in an unlikely place: a Disney album. A series of songs from Dip Set's freshman effort, Diplomatic Immunity were found on Disney's Disney Channel Hits CD instead of Hannah Montana tracks. News of the explicit songs surfaced yesterday after a Sacramento family purchased the CD for their daughters. The Dips music found its way to another Disney CD in when Orlando's WESH 2 revealed that a grandmother in the area gave the CD to her granddaughter for Christmas. The grandmother received the CD as a promotional item from a local Toys R Us. When contacted about the issue of the explicit lyrics, Toys R Us responded, saying the retail chain is "only a distributor" and heard about the news when the story originally broke. As of press time, Disney has not commented but has pulled the CD from store shelves.

Nu Jerzey Devilwho became a household name after a series of mixtapes with The Gameis the latest in the Hip Hop game to launch a clothing line. Heaven or Hell Clothingbacked by Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, The Game and Gloria Velezwill offer shirts, sweaters, and shoes hoodies and shoes. In addition to the launch of Heaven or Hell Clothing, Nu Jerzey Devil will also be active on the music front. Upcoming projects include the Black Wall Street compilation project and a new mixtape, Soundz From Tha Devil Pt. 3. Soundz will feature guest appearances by Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, The Game, Hell Rell, Juice, Jay Rock and Clyde Carson and will be released January 10, Devil's birthday. Nu Jerzey Devil is also back in the studio with The Game for the west coast emcee's third release.

Never one to shy away from a controversial comment, comedian Chris Rock has thrown himself into presidential politics, backing Democratic hopeful Barack Obama. During a recent interview with the New York Times, Rock echoed the replies of many that New York Senator Hillary Clinton has a lot in common with our current President, George W. Bush. "I love Hillary Clinton," Rock says, "but to me she is the Democratic version of George [W.] Bush: someone who is running, and the only reason you know who this person is is because of their name." He went on to add that Clinton has "much more in common with George Bush, Jr. than she does with Oprah Winfrey." While Rock is an Obama supporter, he also noted the historical significance of the current campaign. "It's neck and neck against a woman whose husband was the president, and [Obama is] a black man that no one knew a couple years ago. That is an unbelievable achievement."
