A Detroit judge recently dismissed a $3 billion lawsuit filed against Dr. Dre, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The DVD of the tour, which took place in 2000 following the release of Dr. Dre’s 2000 and Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP, features footage of City of Detroit employees having a conversation with people involved in the Up In Smoke tour.

The discussion that took place was regarding the content of a video to be shown during the show, which included both violence and nudity – a video that Greg Bowens – spokesman to then-Mayor Dennis Archer, then-police spokeswoman Pauala Bridges and then-police Cmdr. Gary Brown asked to be removed from the show.

The law suit claims that the conversation was meant to be private, and its filming violated that privacy. Judge John A. Murphy ruled that since the conversation took place in a room with an open door, “the plaintiffs could not have a reasonable expectation of privacy.”

The plaintiffs’ attorney Glenn Oliver said that he would appeal.
