Hot 97’sMiss Info reports that Jim Jones will release a free album entitled Harlem’s American Gangsta on Nov. 6. The mixtape-style album will be hosted by former Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash. According to Miss Info, Jones is looking to create some competition between Dash’sNicky Barnes film, Mr. Untouchable and American Gangster, which is centered on his rival Frank Lucas. For his part, Jones says he doesn’t care for either of the former drug kingpins.

Nicky Barnes and Frank Lucas was both snitches so neither one of them were real American Gangsters to me,” says Jones. This could make for an interesting first week of November, as Jay-Z plans to release his American Gangster concept album on the sixth also. Additionally, Diplomats A&R Duke Da God is releasing The Eye of the Eagle DVD/CD combo on Nov. 6, while Cam’ron is releasing his free mixtape “Public Enemy # 1” on Nov. 7.

According to Koch Records, who now split his artistic and revenue duties with Columbia Records, Jim Jones’ last album Hustler’s P.O.M.E. is certified gold. The Recording Industry Association of America confirms that P.O.M.E.’s lead single “We Fly High” is certified platinum both as a physical single and a digital download.
