Hip Hop Album Sales: Week Ending 10/21/07
Hip Hop continues to fade into the background as
Bruce Springsteen, Kid Rock, and
Rascal Flatts take the top spots this week.
Kanye West's Graduation is down three spots, but still hanging onto the top ten at #9, selling 54k this week (1.53M total). R&B songstress
Angie Stone debuted
Art of Love and War at #11 this week selling 45k, while
Keyshia Cole's Just Like You took sold 44k copies ( 473k total) and held the #12 spot.
Soulja Boy Tell'em's freshman album Souljaboytellem.com came in at #14 this week and sold 40k (200k total), as J. Holiday's Back of My Lac picked up a little steam and landed 4 places better than last week with #16 and 35k units sold (177k total).
While Kanye is still sittin pretty in the top ten, and half-way to double platinum record sales, 50 Cent's Curtis has fallen from the top 20. Landing at #21, the NY rapper sold 30k this week and finally hit platinum in the US with 1.025 copies sold total.
Kenna, one third of the producer power-group The Neptunes debuted his sophomore rock/alternative/pop music effort at disappointing numbers. Make Sure They See My Face came in at #124 selling just under 6k copies.
