Rumor has it that Rawkus have not signed a deal with DefJam, but have got a distribution deal with MCA, another arm of the huge distributor, Universal Music Group.

Following my statement against Rawkus, a spokesperson denied the DefJam/Rawkus merger, but did admit that they had spoken to them. However, the word on the street is that MCA have taken up the label.

A lot of staff has been laid off due to this deal and rumor has it that all support staff from Rawkus have been made redundant. Neither Rawkus nor MCA have yet made a comment over the rumor.
