Snoop Dogg
is hoping his third foray into the horror genre will be the charm. The rapper, actor and executive will release the urban horror anthology Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror on September 11. Much like Bones and Murder Was the Case before it, Hood of Horror finds “Tha’ Doggfather” as both a narrator and main character.

Snoop says his latest work was inspired by the Tales From the Crypt comic book series and mixes horror, anime and live action. Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror features cameos by Ernie Hudson, Aries Spears, Tayshaun Prince, Method Man and many more. The DVD and VHS formats are expected to be available at all major retail outlets for a suggested retail price of $26.98.

Brooklyn’s Boot Camp Clik continues their bid to be the largest collectives in Hip-Hop History. The independent arm of the BCC, Duckdown Records, will release the debut album from Special Teamz on September 25. Special Teamz is comprised of Boston’s Edo. G, Jaysaun and Slaine. While each has enjoyed solo success at some level, the three will combine their talents with Duckdown’s proven track record for a collective push this fall. The album, entitled Sterotypez, will feature guest spots from Devin The Dude and Sean Price as well as production from DJ Premier, Pete Rock and Marco Polo.
