Amy Winehouse Attempts Suicide
Singer Amy Winehouse has defended her husband, Blake, after the couple were involved in a very public violent fiasco which left them both bloodied and bruised. The 23-year-old singer, who has spent most of the summer in and out of rehab for an addiction to alcohol, crack, and heroin, was seen with bandages covering her arm, blood-soaked shoes and a gashed knee. Guests at the Sanderson hotel in London reported hearing the sound of clattering furniture and screaming coming from their 500-a-night suite.
After speculation of abuse, Winehouse denied Blake was the cause of the fight.The "Rehab" singer sent text messages to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton to defend her husband who she claimed "saved my life".
Winehouse told Perez: "Blake is the best man in the world. We would never ever harm each other... I was cutting myself after he found me in our room about to do drugs with a call girl and rightly said I wasn't good enough for him. I lost it and he saved my life."
In another text she told Perez: "He did not and never has hurt me. He has such a hard time and he so supportive... He is an amazing man who saved my life again and got cut badly for his troubles...I'll be alright. I need to fight my man's corner for him though."
In the past, Winehouse has admitted to being "manic depressive" and also having an addiction to self-inflicted pain (i.e cutting ). Both she and her husband Blake have spent time in rehab this summer for various addictions. Winehouse's father, Mitch, is rumored to be scheduling an immediate meeting with Blake's parents for crisis talks.
