MTV has confirmed that reports of 50 Cent going on a tirade against Interscope Records for leaking his “Follow My Lead” song and video months ahead of schedule are true. Last week HHDX got word from Miss Info that 50 ripped a 70 -inch plasma television off the wall, threw his cell phone and screamed at a few Interscope executives for prematurely releasing his fourth single, which features Robin Thicke. Today 50 explained how he found out about the leak and also cleared up his recent comments regarding Kanye West.

“I get [a] phone call and someone is telling me they seen the Robin Thicke video,”
says 50. “It was a friend of mine, but he’s from a different state. Then I start to get the phone calls, ’cause across the country the mix-show DJ’s start getting it. This record isn’t even supposed to be out!”

According to 50, his anger stemmed from losing a hit record, wasting time filming a video that has essentially been reduced to a YouTube clip and Interscope’s inability to properly protect his material. As far as 50’s statement that he would retire if Kanye West outsold him on September 11, he backed down–somewhat. 50 referred to himself as a “boss,” while he called Kanye a “worker bee,” saying that if Kanye outsold him it would mean that “he did a better job than me on his album.” Assuming that there are no more mistakes on the part of Interscope, it appears that this one won’t be settled until Curtis drops next month.

“Don’t get lost in the hype,”
50 quipped. “I got the right records, so we’re gonna sit here and I’ll see you next time. Maybe next time they can send me off to the pastures. But right now, I’m gonna stick around and sell this record–and I will be number one on September 11.”
