Girl in Infamous Video to Testify In R. Kelly's Defense
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the young woman who was allegedly seen having sex with R&B singer R. Kelly will be in court to testify that it was not her in the video. The young woman, who turns 23, is listed as Kelly's "goddaughter" in the liner notes of his TP2.com album.
Prosecutors are expected to refute this claim by having the young woman's friends, family and other testify that she is, indeed, the girl in the video, and that she appears to be 14 when it was made.
Despite the fact that the girl and her parents have claimed that it is not her, former R. Kelly protg Sparkle (who is the girl's aunt) confirms that it was her.
The trial, which begins September 17, is not expected to last more than four weeks. If convicted of the 14 counts of child pornography, R. Kelly faces 15 years in prison.
