HHDX News Bits (ASCAP Awards, Musiq & FMZ)

Jermaine Dupri was among the top honorees during the 20th Anniversary ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards at 25th at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Dupri shared the Songwriter of the Year Award with Mary J. Blige and Jonta Austin. Nellys Grillz, which was produced by Dupri, was recognized as the Ringtone of the Year. In addition to being one of Billboards top selling ringtones for 2006, the single peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Pop 100 and spent 30 weeks on the charts.

Musiq Solchild is preparing to hit the road for The Luvanmusiq Tour which kicks off July 11th in Chicago. VH1 Soul is presenting the tour in support of Musiq's latest offering Luvanmusiq. He recently released the second video off the album "Teachme". Check the tourdates below...

On September 25th, Famouz (aka FMZ) will drop his debut LP titled Ghetto Passport. The former NY Giant spits game over production by One Drop Scott and features a plethora of guest spots. The most interesting of the bunch is Jon Bon Jovi, who teams up with FMZ to recreate the classic "Bad Name" with a hip hop twist. Other guests include E-40 & Bun B. Check for the album Sept 25th.
